Old Farm house Gathering Market Monday

As all of you know, I am a happy and proud member of a wonderful group of craftspeople and folk artists on Esty, named Old Farmhouse Gathering. It is a joy to share their work with others. Today, I am featuring Jan Coffey of Coffey House.

As Jan says,"Hi, my name is Jan Coffey. I'm a self-taught artist/designer. I've had two instructional painting books published, as well as having my designs in several magazines since 1998. I've been selling my work for over 15 years. Although I enjoy doing mostly primitive folk art style designs, I love to try various mediums, including mixed media collage and doll making. Painted Panache by Joann Y Wheeler. I choose that name because that's the name I have had my business under since I began painting porcelain in 1986. Panache is defined as distinctive and stylish elegance. The word seemed to fit especially with my hand painted porcelain.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

Since February 2007

3. What type of items do you offer?

My shop features handpainted porcelain (china painting), decorative painting on wood and glass, and miniature art (ACEO's) in various mediums.

4. How long have you been crafting?

For at least 30 years.

5. Who or What inspires you?

Nature. I love to paint flowers and animals. God inspires me. I enjoy doing religious paints as well. And i'm one of those people who cannot paint unless inspired by something.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

I can't say that I have one thing that is my absolute favorite. Every time I get one, it seems like someone buys it! However, I do tend to favor my handpainted porcelain because I believe it's one of those things that you can pass down for generations to come.

7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog)

As this a blog that needs more attention from me. So I am going to give away a pattern of choice to one of the first 50 people to follow this blog. When the number 50 is reached, one lucky person will be chosen at random and that person will be able to pick a pattern which will be sent to them for free.

Have fun and come back often as I will be adding new patterns very often.

In time for Valentine's Day Chocolate Covered Strawberries e pattern

Oh so much fun and great for Valentine's Day or as an extra special gift for that someone special any time of the year!

Delightful strawberries made from muslin and hand painted. There are three to a set and they look as if they had been dipped in white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Then I swirled complimentary shades of chocolate colored paint to give them that gourmet look! These measure 4 inches wide and 4 inches tall, excluding the natural stem. The paint used for the chocolate makes them look as though they were truly dipped in chocolate and then swirled with other types of chocolate. A hang tag accompanies them that reads "sweet Strawberries 5 cents.

Comes with complete instructions, diagrams and photos-sewing and painting instructions.

Fun for any time of the year.

FInd them at my website, patternmart, old sister's primtive marketplace, etsy, artfire, and the pattern cupboard.

You can get them through Patternmart by clicking on the image on the side of the blog.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!
